FOUNDATION FOR COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC SPEAKING COURSE OBJECTIVE: The objective of the communication and public speaking project is to develop student’s communication skills and enhance their ability to express ideas effectively, engage audiences, and convey messages with confidence. Through interactive learning experiences, students will delve into various aspects of communication, including verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, and effective presentation techniques. The project aims to improve students' public speaking skills, boost their self-confidence, and refine their ability to articulate thoughts clearly and persuasively. Furthermore, students will acquire strategies for effective interpersonal communication and collaboration, strengthening their ability to connect with others and work harmoniously in team settings. COURSE OUTLINE: Class 1-5: Introduction to Effective Communication Highlight the importance of effective communication in daily life. Teach basic verbal and non-verbal skills like active listening, clear speaking, and body language. Engage students in role-playing and storytelling activities to practice communication. Emphasize active listening as vital for understanding others. Class 6-8: Developing Public Speaking Skills Teach fundamental public speaking skills like organization, language use, and audience engagement. Introduce speech types (informative, persuasive, storytelling). Engage students in short speeches, impromptu speaking, and visual aids. Provide constructive feedback and encourage peer evaluation to facilitate continuous improvement in public speaking abilities. Class 9-10: Effective Presentation Skills Equip students with advanced presentation techniques to deliver impactful presentations. Teach strategies for structuring presentations, utilizing visual aids effectively, and managing nerves. Explore the art of storytelling to engage and captivate an audience. Discuss the importance of audience analysis and tailoring presentations to meet their needs and interests. Class 11-12: Professional Communication and Persuasive Speaking Delve into the realm of professional communication by focusing on skills essential for success in the workplace.
